Boys Age is the bedroom project of Saitama, Japan resident, and longtime associate of Gnar Tapes, Kazunari Muto. “Kusouzu” is Boys Age’s 2nd tape for Gnar Tapes; the first being “Fake Gold” in 2013, which was the first US release of Boys Age. Since then the project has gained considerable cult status among lo-fi/vaporwave/weirdo/outsider fringe with numerous releases on many beloved cassette labels and friends of Gnar like Plastic Response, Grabbing Clouds, and Galaxy Train.
This cassette comes during the 2020 Covid shudown in a time when a lot of us are confined to our bedrooms and domiciles. Music like this, coming from a tiny room in Japan, during these shared times of crisis and technological togetherness, should come as a welcome and friendly babble that you may find comforting. Some ASMR vibes on here for sure.
Limited edition of 102 professionally mastered cassettes; dubbed, printed, and factory sealed locally in Arcadia, CA; shipped right here from Gnar Tapes in Los Angeles.
